Supporting Indie Authors
I Want to Hear From You: My Book Review Policy
Like most authors, I love to read, and have immersed myself in books since I was a kid. In an attempt to support other indie authors, I read and review a lot of indie books.
I will review almost all adult fiction (nothing explicit or erotic, and no horror), particularly mystery and suspense. I don't read a lot of science fiction or dystopian, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy these genres. I also review clean, sweet romances (Think, "Will I be mortified if my mother-in-law reads this?") and YA fiction, except anime and horror. Also send me literary and experimental fiction. And from time to time I may review non-fiction. Please send me a link to your book on amazon. My new policy is to purchase all books that I review. If I choose to review your book I will ask for a jpg or png of your cover, and links to your website, social media and amazon author page.
Follow the links to the left for a few examples of books I have reviewed.
I evaluate books on a five-star score, and post reviews on my website, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, and Goodreads. If I feel that a book does not warrant at least a three-star rating, I will not review it. (Like my mother used to say, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.") My reviews are meant to be supportive. And while I will always be kind, I will also always be honest. Sometimes it's hard to receive less than glowing feedback. Believe me....I understand this from personal experience. But if presented as constructive criticism, this feedback helps both the reader and the author.
Please be patient! I receive many requests, but will get to them all. If I do review your book, I will email you when I have posted my review, and will include a link to the review on my website. I look forward to hearing from you! If you have trouble using the submit buttons on this page, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
